If you’re looking for a clever way to store stuffed toys, get a bean bag cover and fill it up!

We have accumulated hundreds (well it feels like thousands) of stuffed animal toys over the years.

From birth to childhood and well into the tween years, my girls’ love of stuffed toys hasn’t waned.

Our collection includes the first teddy bear milestones, to the favourite ABC4Kids characters, to the plush toys won at the Ekka. There are plenty of memories attached to those toys.

While the toys can be donated, another way to store them is to stuff them into an empty bean bag case. All my girls’ stuffed toys are sitting in a bean bag in the living room. It’s now a time capsule of stuffed toys they’ve loved in their lifetime.

Even though it doesn’t have the same ‘sink in’ feeling as the Styrofoam balls, it’s eco-friendly as it prevents the toys from going to landfill.

What I love about our bean bag is it can still be filled as we cull the toys. It also means toys can be retrieved should they wish to play with them again. However, that’s not a regular occurrence because the point of storing them in the bean bag is to keep them out of sight!

If your home is overflowing with stuffed animal toys, purchase a bean bag cover and start filling it up. You never know, those toys kept hidden might make you a fortune one day!
