This May long weekend, we were supposed to be at a rainforest retreat for two nights to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary.
Instead, we will be painting our house and ticking off items on our home maintenance checklist.
Last night, we decided to celebrate in style by having a date night picnic in the living room.
The girls helped to set the scene by vacuuming the floor and setting up the coffee table, ready for the grazing box Jacob had organised from Grove and Hollow.
I didn’t want to dishearten their efforts with setting the cutlery on the table, knowing it was going to be a night of grazing with our hands.
The native floral arrangement was collated on our usual walk around the block and the ‘yay’ napkins from a previous Birthday party. The hessian tablecloth was a piece of cloth I had used for a styling project a few years ago. And tea lights make everything special and romantic.
We got the grazing box delivered at 5pm to ensure it’s freshness for our dinner. It was a contactless delivery, placed at our front door. The box was so beautifully presented and I couldn’t wait to dig in.
But we waited until the girls were given their dinner and were put to bed with iPads (a very rare event) so we could enjoy the platter.
Our grazing box had a mix of sweet and savoury. We didn’t finish it and had some for lunch the next day.
The girls did come out at around 8pm to see what was left. They enjoyed a few quiches and of course the marshmallows and Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
Our grazing box cost $135 including delivery. You can get smaller boxes, but Jacob chose this one due to the selection it included.
It’s certainly not going to be the last time we order a grazing box. The presentation was awesome and that made it all the more special for our anniversary.
