A Day in the Life of a Plumber – Three Plumbers to Follow on Instagram

If you’ve ever wanted to know what a day in the life of a plumber is like, here are three plumbers to follow on Instagram.

Social media is often slammed for sharing the highlight reel instead of the ‘reality’ reel. But these plumbers have embraced Instagram as a tool to really show what they can be faced with at work. And sometimes what they show isn’t pretty. Their stories and photos offer an insight in the day of a plumber and how every day is different.

Plumbers never know what they are going to find when they show up to a job, and some are clever enough to utilise social media to show you the varied surprises they face each day.

So here are three of my favourite plumbers to follow on Instagram. They show you how it is, no filters required. Thank goodness there is no smell function, because some of what they post can be hard to stomach. But there are informative posts too, which primarily explain why licensed plumbers should be used to install all your plumbing needs.

What Should a Plumber Put on Their Instagram Feed?

If you’re a plumber with a website that has a blog, and some social media channels, it can be hard to know what to share. Sometimes it’s an added item on your to-do-list, which you don’t have time for. But making time for a quick photo on the job or a video can be really useful and it can be instantly uploaded to your social media accounts. You also have the ability to embed these posts into a blog post for your news section on your website (just as I have done in this post).

It is important for plumbers to be visible on Facebook and Instagram as these are the new ‘yellow pages’. Whatever you show on your feed, should be helpful and/or entertaining. Be mindful that potential customers will view your feed (providing it’s set as public) and the content you share will either encourage them or deter them from giving you a call.

If you are a plumbing company that is wanting help with social media or content creation for your website, feel free to contact me. I offer this as a service, for trade companies that don’t have the time to do it themselves.
