I can’t seem to window shop at Kmart. I walk in with no intention of buying and then I walk out with a few bargains. It seems I’m not alone as Kmart Hacks are now becoming a real thing and I like it. With the change of season, I like to change things up in the interior of my home and a Kmart Hack is just the thing to spruce it up. I’ve attempted my own Kmart Hack before and it turned out well and the pom poms are still on the cushions!
My next Kmart Hack was a bit of a fail. You can read about that one here.
I attempted my third Kmart Hack by painting polka dots on this Kmart White Jug. The results are a bit mixed. It’s a bit rough, but from the distance, the jug doesn’t look too bad. The jug only cost $8 and didn’t take long to paint. Best of all, if I change my mind about it, I can wash the paint off.
I used my remnants of Annie Sloan paint in a teal colour called ‘Florence’. After attending a party that introduced me to the Annie Sloan paints last year, I painted a wooden tray that I had hiding in my office. I hadn’t shared this project on the blog because I got a bit overwhelmed with family and life after Phoebe was born. But here it is. And it works beautifully with the painted jug. It probably even saves the bad paint job.
