Healthy and Easy Tuna Salad Lettuce Wraps
I have been looking for healthy lunch alternatives, that just don’t involve salad. In a way, this is still a salad, but it’s be turned into a wrap. A very healthy wrap.
Some of the ingredients for these wraps were sourced from our vegetable garden. I love having herbs and veggies available in our garden. The difficulty with our vegetable garden is maintaining it, and then waiting for the produce to grow so it’s ready to be used in recipes. The beetroots are nearly ready for picking. Looking forward to creating a feta and beetroot salad or tart. #watchthisspace
You can add anything to your tuna salad filling. I opted for tomatoes, red onion, green onion/shallots, celery, carrot and basil and parsley.
I added lime and mayonnaise to create a creamy, combined texture, easy for spooning into the lettuce cups. You can add more or less to suit your taste preferences.
Cos lettuce or ice berg works well for these wraps. The inner leaves are usually the strongest and will keep their shape. I used these for the photos in this post.
If transporting these wraps to work, I’d use a bento or compartmentalized lunchbox as shown below. Separate the lettuce wraps into the larger section and add herbs and your tuna salad to the smaller sections.

With Christmas literally a month and a half away, these easy tuna salad lettuce wraps, will balance the calories consumed when dining out at end of year events. They can also be a dinner alternative if you need something a little lighter.
